On Monday, February 13th, retired teacher, Karle Warren, along with third grade students from Heights Elementary, recited the Read Across America Oath with the District's Board of Directors.

National Education Association's Read Across America Day, which celebrates Dr. Seuss's birthday and the joys of reading, expects more than 45 million readers, both young and old, to pick up a book and read.  Please help show our children the joy of reading and build a nation of readers on March 2, and every day!

Congratulations to Read Across America Library Grants Award-Winners, Dani Layes, Molly Weissenfels, and Celia Piper of Grantham, Highland, and Parkway!  Each won $1,000 from the National Education Association's Read Across America Library Grant program to purchase books for their school's libraries.

Clarkston School District is changing their enrollment practices to require all students to have proof of a physical address within the Clarkston School District. This change was made to get on level with most other school districts in the state of Washington who require some form of proof of residency. The District is implementing this change for the start of the 2017-2018 school year which starts now with the yearly registration process.

Any new student to the district will be required to verify residency prior to being enrolled. Acceptable forms of proof of residency include a utility bill, lease agreement, or other documentation that you live at an address in our school district. Current students will need to provide proof of a physical address during the registration process.

Registration is open now through March 3, at your local school. Please remember to bring your proof of residency when turning in your forms.
